Reno Soup for the Soul was founded by Amie Duncan, a local resident who was eager to serve love and hope to those in need. Reno Soup for the Soul began providing the homeless community with hot meals - specifically warm homemade soup - but has since grown to provide baked goods, sandwiches, wraps, and bottled drinks. Amie spends every other weekend collecting food from local restaurants like Sup and Great Full Gardens, individually packaging each meal, and distributing those meals to our neighbors in need.   

Along with providing meals, Reno Soup for the Soul offers comfort to the community by collecting necessary items such as reusable water bottles, blankets, face masks, and hygiene kits. 

How You Can Help: It’s all thanks to the many volunteers and supporters that Reno Soup for the Soul continues to provide for the community. This group can never have too much help and you’re able to help in a number of ways including:

Food Bank of Northern Nevada

The Food Bank of Northern Nevada, a member of the Feeding America Foundation, provides food to more than 106,000 residents each month. With 1 in 4 children going hungry in Nevada, the Food Bank of Northern Nevada is excited to be a pivotal organization in the hunger relief efforts that are so crucial to our community in need. The Food Bank serves people of all ages, but children and seniors make up over half of all their monthly guests.

Eddy House 

“A House of Help. A House of Hope.” That’s exactly what the Eddy House set out to do - become a house of help and hope for the homeless and at-risk youth in the area. Its mission is to provide local at-risk youth with an environment where they can develop life and job skills required to live independently. Their goal is to end youth homelessness in our community and encourage those who need help to reach out.

Petting Zoo at The Village at Rancharrah

Our brokerage is excited to be hosting a small petting zoo with the Nevada Humane Society! The petting zoo will be on Saturday, October 2nd from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. at The Village at Rancharrah.

There will be fun games, a free ice cream and you'll be able to adopt dogs and cats on site! Your kids will also be able to pet the pig, goats, bunnies, and chickens!
